| Elaine has performed nationally and internationally in Canada, England, Israel, and Australia. She is passionate about all music, but decided to follow a career as a singer/songwriting and Jewish music educator. With her love of Jewish tradition and history, music became her way of being able to share and teach that love of Judaism.
Elaine lived for a time with her husband Michael in Israel, near the Judean Hills in Jerusalem. "The colors during dusk were exquisite and the quiet beauty was so peaceful, it's a vision that will remain vivid in my memory forever".
When Elaine was 10, she began voice lessons with Detroit radio personality, Harold Keen. "The unusual part of this equation", she says, "is that he was blind. Somehow, he always knew when I was slouching during my lessons, not opening my mouth wide enough or making faces when I didn't like the lesson or how I was singing. It was an invaluable beginning experience in voice training and performance skills".
Elaine writes her own material...lyrics and music. She says, " It's a 24 hour process.During the writing of a new piece, all my energy goes toward composing the song or trying not to think about writing the song. It needs breathing' time to gain its own life. Sometimes it wakes me up or doesn't let me sleep until it sings perfect".
Elaine is an annual ASCAP award-winning songwriter and singer, as well as the recipient of the "Jewish Women of the Arts Award" for original educational music. Her songs have also been given the "Children's Music Web Award" and become a part of many school curriculums.
Elaine is a Registered Nurse; Bubbie of Alexis and Danielle; Mom to daughter Alizah and son-in-law Adam and daughter Dana; lives in Orchard Lake, Michigan with her extrememly active in the Jewish community' husband, Michael.
